Do Social Empathy Film Series: Dekalb Elementary

Do Social Empathy Film Series: Dekalb Elementary Online

The Do Social Empathy Film Series is an opportunity to virtually watch short films that inspire compassion and understanding towards other. After each online screening, our own Laurel Ridge sociology students will host discussion that encourages participants to reflect upon the diversity of human experiences alongside sociological concepts.

On Thursday, December 4th, we will host a virtual screening of the short film, Dekalb Elementary, a drama based on a real-life 911 call placed during a school shooting incident.

Participants are welcome to join through Zoom to watch the screen-shared film, then participate or observe as our students generate discussion. There is no expectation to share but attendees are encouraged to join in if they feel comfortable!
